We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual for a Staff Accountant role within our small accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity for a degreed entry-level or mid-level professional to join a fast-paced team where you will play a vital role in financial operations. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, accounts payable & receivable, fixed assets depreciation, intermediate Excel, financial statements preparation, auditing, and payroll processing.

Responsibilities:

As a Staff Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Performing account reconciliations, ensuring accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
2. Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
3. Conducting general ledger functions, including posting and balancing.
4. Managing fixed assets depreciation schedules and recording related entries.
5. Utilizing intermediate Excel skills to create and maintain financial reports and dashboards.
6. Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
7. Participating in the preparation of audit schedules for internal and external auditors.
8. Processing payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
9. Identifying and implementing improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
10. Collaborating with other team members to achieve overall department goals.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Staff Accountant role will have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
3. Proficiency in account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable & receivable.
4. Experience with fixed assets depreciation and intermediate Excel.
5. Proven ability to prepare financial statements and participate in auditing processes.
6. Experience with payroll processing.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
