Job Details
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of partnership tax returns for real estate funds and investment partnerships, including partnership book and tax allocations based on waterfall schedules;
- Preparation of individual tax returns for high net-worth individuals, including deferred compensation, K-1 flow-through, and state residency and domicile considerations;
- Research state and local tax issues and prepare written tax advice and tax correspondence with clients and tax authorities;
- Review client documentation for state and local examinations, confirm that documentation supports tax return positions, assist with managing the tax examination process and researching statutory, regulatory, and case law authorities to support tax return positions;
- Assist with regulatory, compliance, required electronic, and administrative functions.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of recent and relevant US experience in a tax department of a CPA or private industry firm;
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field, required
- Masters in Taxation degree or pursuing a Masters in Taxation at the time of applying;
- Must have experience with multi-state and real estate tax work in the U.S.
- Strong time management skills;
- Experienced using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook), CCH Prosystems, BNA Tax Projection system, and QuickBooks (desktop and online) a plus;
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, verbally and in writing;
- Work with confidential client matters and ability to keep such matters confidential
