Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in defending employers and insurance carriers in worker’s compensation actions.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, and conducting depositions
- Attend client meetings and communicate with clients regarding case updates and developments
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and other legal staff on complex legal matters
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and trial exhibits
- Serve as a legal resource for clients and other attorneys within the firm
- Attend court hearings and conferences as needed
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Kansas
- Missouri Bar License in addition a plus
- 6 years defending employers and insurance carriers in worker’s compensation
- Portable book of established clients preferred
- Dependable, reliable, confident
