Job Duties:
Act as a liaison and maintain and develop strong, positive relationships between John Randolph Medical Center and local, regional, and state EMS providers and agencies.
Represent and advocate for the facility with local, regional, and state EMS agencies.
Collaborate with EMS agencies in performance improvement and quality review activities.
Promote specialty capabilities of the facility to EMS agencies and providers.
Work collaboratively to establish and maintain rapid off-loading and short turn-around times for EMS agencies.
Facilitates and/or conducts EMS Continuing Education and opportunities for clinical rotations.
Conduct regular visits to local Fire and EMS stations.
Collaborate with various hospital departments to improve EMS experiences within the facility.
Compile and regularly report EMS statistics and issues to the director and key leaders within the organization and HCA Health Care.
Oversight of EMS rooms for appropriate stocking, usage, cleanliness, etc. Collaboration with ED directors/staff, Food Services, and Environmental Services.
Coordinate and arrange events for EMS personnel several times a year including, but not limited to EMS week. Evaluate educational programs for EMS that are or have been sponsored by the hospital.
Ensure hospital compliance with regulatory organizations concerning interaction with EMS agencies, students, equipment and restocking practices.
Develop and grow hospital/EMS Collaboration projects and business opportunities in conjunction with Marketing and Business Development.
Promote positive regional EMS strategies by working collaboratively with other EMS liaisons in other HCA Health Care.
Assist with Trauma Service functions such as data collection and entry and other functions essential to the department.
Maintains current EMT-certifications or licenses as related to the EMS Liaison Position
Acts in accordance with facility privacy policies and adheres to HIPPA regulations.
Attend and support local public community EMS related events as well as local rescue squad monthly meetings when appropriate.
Maintain strong and open relationships with all Fire/EMS personnel; both paid and volunteer. Maintain good working relationship with patient, visitors, physicians, coworker and other staff within the hospitals.
Coordinates Emergency Management planning and implementation of Emergency Management drills, and coordinates regulatory agency documentation requirements for Emergency management.

Education & Experience:
Minimum five years recent experience as a certified, practicing EMS provider at an Advanced Life Support Level (minimum EMT-I) or Registered Nurse with five years recent experience in an Emergency Department and/ or Critical Transport setting.
Required
Ability to travel, mostly within the Metro Richmond area, with occasional travel beyond Richmond. Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends, occasional variable weekday hours.

In addition to minimum provider experience, three to five years' experience in EMS leadership or management role.

Associate's Degree
