We are hiring a Meltblown Operator Trainee at our Richland, MS plant. We are searching for individuals who are dependable, responsible and quality-minded who have a history of working safely in a manufacturing environment.
Qualified candidates will need to be flexible in terms of work schedule and work assignment. Must have excellent attendance, attitude and be motivated. The Meltblown Operator Trainee will report directly to the Department Supervisor and/or the Departmental Area Leader.
This position is a training position, candidates must show the desire and the ability to learn. Movement to the next highest phase must be done within 90 calendar days upon hire. Excellent attendance, attitude and motivation must be demonstrated to advance to the next level (Meltblown Operator I). Advancement can be faster upon Supervisor discretion.
Responsibilities will include:
- Package per customer specifications
- Operate winder
- Load additives
- Read and understand production schedule and pass schedule test
- Handle, wrap and label rolls without damaging product
- Cut and transport samples to quality control lab
- Operate hoist and scale
- Clean bag house
- Inspect, load and clean screen changer
- Change front and back spunbond
- Thread a line
- Setup for a purge
- Perform basic QC tests (air perm, thickness and basis weight)
- Operate core cutter
- Clean inlet air screens and vacuum system
- Received, read, and understand ISO9001 introduction
- Setup and adjust knives and water spray - all lines
- Cross training is encouraged in all aspects of plant operations.
- Perform any tasks assigned by supervisor or area lead
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical experience a plus
- Lift 50 lbs.
- Certified to operate fork truck
- Computer skills such as labeling software and SAP
- Exceptional reading, writing, listening and mathematic skills
