What you will do
Supervise the team of buyers and work with suppliers, production, materials and inventory management to ensure the appropriate materials are available to meet the production schedule; coordinates with inventory to time the shipment of specific materials in line with production schedules and inventory goals; and works with suppliers to procure the appropriate materials for production.
How you will do it
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.
Coordinates with Production team to ensure all materials are available for manufacturing
Manages inventory levels to maintain company objectives
Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
Analyzes market and delivers conditions to determine present and future material availability.
Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Assigns procurement requests to the appropriate personnel.
Is responsible for all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
Interacts with Engineering and Quality departments on new products and/or revisions to existing products as well as quality parts.
Works with suppliers for returns as necessary
Provides KPIs and tracking for Supplier Performance for OTD, Quality, Cost, etc.
Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP logic
Serve as the Purchasing ethics/compliance representative.
Supervise external and internal compliance audits.
What we look for
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combined education and experience.
5 years of experience in a related Purchasing role.
Previous Supply Chain experience
Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software.
Preferred
SAP ERP system experience
CPM Certification and HVAC experience
