POSITION SUMMARY
JoJo Restaurant by Jean-Georges is now hiring experienced Servers to join our team! The Server position provides an expertly crafted beverage or dining experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (these are not all-inclusive)
- Anticipate the guests’ needs and as an expert on the menu options
- Describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests
- Offer interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods
- Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen using point-of-sales system
- Expertly coordinate food timing between courses
- Check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order
- Anticipate guest needs to ascertain satisfaction and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
- Ability to appropriately upsell
- Properly process payments
- Complete side work and tasks as assigned by management
- Maintain assigned section with urgency while able to multi-task and observe entire dining room
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of 3 years fine dining experience
- A passion for food, wine, and service
- Knowledge of food and beverage
- A strong sense of urgency and excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
- Understanding of tableside etiquette
- The ability to commit to 2 years or more in a position
- Have long-term goals in the service industry and desire for growth
- A competitive spirit
- A focus on hospitality and guest rapport alongside the development of a regular clientele
- Rigorous attention to detail
- Interpersonal and team player skills
COMPENSATION:
The base pay range for this position is paid a minimum wage and a tip credit is taken when applicable. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
