Position Summary:
The Lighting and Maintenance Service Technician will travel to the client's site to troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical/lighting issues on signs, electronic messaging centers (EMC's), billboards and other lighting structures. You will also be responsible for the installation and retrofit of a variety of lighting and electrical fixtures. You will ensure each client's needs are met with each service call while representing Jones Sign in a professional and experienced manner is critical to the success of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair signs, billboards, LED displays, and various lighting structures.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications.
- Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Work from bucket trucks, ladders, scaffolds and other lifting devices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Perform physically demanding tasks while conveying knowledge of basic/specialized tools and equipment throughout the service job/work order process.
- Perform repair work orders in a timely manner and with craftsmanship
- Comply with all safety and housekeeping processes to meet and exceed that of Jones Sign and client’s location
- Operates service equipment in a safe and courteous manner to project a positive and safe company image
- Complete work order service log accurately and in a timely manner
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years of lighting/electrical service experience
- Possession of Class B or A CDL, or ability to obtain one is preferred
- Clean driving record is required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, data and equipment/fixtures specifications
- Unrestricted ability to bend, stoop, lift, squat, stand, walk, climb, twist, turn and reach
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
