QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER
QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER – plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of product layout, customer PPAP, and calibration. Assist in PFMEA, control plan and other APQP tasks. Heads up continuous improvement projects. Performs work that involves conventional part layout, process and product audits. Performs a variety of assigned Quality Assurance functions.
INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Quality Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
- Keeps all Quality Assurance manuals and computer files up to date.
- Works with Quality Manager to continue JOST TS/IATF 16949 compliance.
- Perform Product/Process Audits
- Manage and perform calibration
- Manage and complete fixture verification
- Review OEM Customer Specific Requirements and JOST Compliance
- Lead continuous improvement and corrective action efforts ensuring they are completed on time
- Complete customer PPAP submissions per customer requests and review annually
- Support process engineering with ECN implementation and APQP development to include ensuring PFMEA, control plan, and work instructions coincide
- Issue quality alerts and initiate corrective action process
- Manage CPA and 8D log
- Monitor KPI’s and company quality goals.
- Create/Update PFMEA’s, and control plans as requested/required in compliance with TS/IATF16949.
- Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
- ASQ CQT, CQA and CQE preferred
- Experience with measuring devices (i.e., CMM/ FARO, calipers, etc.).
- Understanding of AIAG control plans, FMEAs and PTC
- Understanding of the AIAG APQP and PPAP process.
- Understanding of AIAG SPC and MSA.
- Microsoft Excel experience is preferred.
- Good communication and math skills desired.
- Ability to learn the Jost basic processes
- Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.
- Work is generally performed in a production plant 25% of time, 75% in an office setting.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift, pull or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
