Chase’s growing Content organization is hiring an Executive Editor to lead an editorial team focused on travel, shopping/offers, dining, and lifestyle content. The team is a new initiative led by creative executives from restaurant discovery platform The Infatuation, which J.P. Morgan Chase acquired in 2021. Our mission is to create best-in-class content that breaks through the clutter, and ultimately helps Chase customers better engage with their benefits, inspiring them to travel, shop, and dine with Chase.
As Executive Editor, Content in Card & Connected Commerce, you will lead a team of editors and writers, developing editorial content in travel, shopping, dining, and across credit card portfolios. Projects will span across digital web, print, and newsletters, in close collaboration with social media and production teams. The Executive Editor will be responsible for ideating on content strategies, and then directing a team of editors and writers to execute accordingly. The ideal candidate has experience leading an editorial team at a publication or branded content studio, and has worked with a variety of clients or stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of editors and writers who create written content covering travel, shopping/offers, dining, and other lifestyle categories
- Collaborate with marketing stakeholders in various lines of business to develop editorial content strategies
- Develop processes to deliver high-quality original content in a fast, efficient manner
- Work comfortably across mediums, from digital to print to newsletters
- Conceive of and pitch original content projects across multiple businesses, such as year-end packages or attention-getting tent pole initiatives
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 10 years working in editorial at a publication, media company, or branded content agency
- 5 years experience managing editorial content teams, including experience managing multi-layered teams
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and operational efficiencies within a creative team
- Ability to act as a hands-on editor as needed, shaping voice, style, and narrative
- Extensive knowledge of culture and /lifestyle categories, including hotels, travel destinations, restaurants, and cultural events
- Experience managing to a budget for staffing, freelancers, and travel and entertainment (T&E)
