The Strategy Lead - Wealth Management and Business Banking Partnership (“Business & Wealth Strategy Lead”) will be responsible for all aspects of the strategic relationship between Wealth Management and Business Banking businesses. The Business & Wealth Strategy Lead will drive and execute strategic initiatives to deepen the opportunity at the cross section of Business Banking and Wealth Management.
The J.P. Morgan Wealth Management (USWM) business is focused on helping investors achieve their long-term financial goals and is comprised of the Chase Wealth Management business, J.P. Morgan Advisors, Personal Advisors and Self-Directed - our digital investing platform. The combined business has ~$600 billion in Assets Under Management and ~5,000 advisors located across 3,500 branches and 20 offices.
The Business & Wealth Strategy Lead will report to the Head of Investments & Advice for Chase Wealth Management, Personal Advisors, and Self-Directed. They will partner with senior members across multiple lines of business including but not limited to Business Banking and Asset & Wealth Management to ensure clarity around the priorities of the Wealth Management and Business Banking Partnership. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of how the needs of a business, business owner, and their employees are supported across various strategies including retirement, succession planning, and cash management. The role requires excellent communication skills, ability to adapt quickly, and flexibility with constantly changing environments.
Job responsibilities
- Drive high priority initiatives working across multiple stakeholders in Business Banking and Wealth Management
- Enhance and scale the existing engagement and referral operating model between Business Relationship Managers & Financial Advisors (in-branch and out of branch)
- Lead field engagement and activation (e.g., form and run structured focus groups, run pilots for new activities in the field, create process for ongoing field guidance, partner with subject matter experts to train on products and solutions)
- Establish reporting, oversee business case build, establish OKRs, analyze product economics, and compensation changes
- Partner with key functional stakeholders such as Marketing on campaigns, Product & Technology to advance the product roadmap, Operations to solve client pain points, and Communications to create content and draft messages to field teams
- Communicate with and create content for senior stakeholders and cross line of business partners
- Grow workplace retirement solutions to fully serve small businesses and provide a bridge to managing wealth for company employees and owners
- Run governance for the overall partnership, including driving agendas, working on materials for business reviews, steering committees, and working groups
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 10 years of experience in financial services, preferably within Asset & Wealth Management and Business Banking
- Execution-oriented, seeking management of a broad book of work with significant business growth impact
- Strong problem solving skills, specifically around complex initiatives across multiple workstreams
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in written form
- Strong influencing skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels of the firm
- Ability to apply quantitative and strategic approaches and work well in cross-functional teams
- Experience managing projects in a client-focused environment
- Knowledge of retirement product sets and solutions and sales management
- Experience with connecting clients with the appropriate solution set in a sales capacity
- Experience with developing communications and training strategies for a scaled organization
