About the Staff Analyst position
The staff analyst plays a critical role in helping clients by performing entry level consulting work in credit risk measurement and risk management practices for a diversified portfolio of moderately complex borrowing relationships. The position involves data entry, financial analysis, and conducting credit reviews during onsite and/or remote consulting engagements, analyzing internal reports, reviewing industry information, and researching risk topics affecting the financial services industry. Reports to the Bank Consulting Senior Manager.
In addition to having a focused, analytical mind, one of the most important qualities of the staff analyst is being a team player. They work closely with and in support of senior analysts and managers, requiring excellent interpersonal skills. This position will be filled by someone who is energetic, undaunted by challenges and who is willing to work to earn their coworkers’ respect. Above all, the staff analyst is expected to reflect JRBT’s values of trust, integrity and excellence.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in credit risk related consulting engagements.
- Develops draft report comments and submits them to the Manager-in-Charge.
- Ensures proper application of applicable policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Performs ongoing review of credit related bank reporting.
- Represents the Bank Consulting Division at Board meetings or management meetings.
- Assists the Manager-in-Charge as needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience and Licensure
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in finance, accounting, banking and financial institutions, business administration, economics, or job-related field. Copy of official college transcripts must be submitted with the Application for Employment.
- Previous work experience is not required although experience as a loan analyst, a bank examiner or in the banking industry is preferred.
Special Requirements
- Overnight travel will be expected at times but can be reduced by working remotely from the JRBT Office or from Home as applicant’s experience and ability to work independently improves over time.
- This position requires that the incumbent demonstrate strong personal financial responsibility and integrity.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Possess and exhibit sufficient oral and written communication skills.
- Possess working knowledge in the use of personal computers, including Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Minimal knowledge in credit risk measurement and risk management practices.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to be self-motivated and exercise initiative and independent judgment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
