What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Service Desk Technician position at JSW Steel USA - Ohio?
The Service Desk Technician (temporary position) will collaborate with our existing IT Team and be required to:
• Assist in the construction of data technology (IT) definitions.
• Document a general system style to support clients’ needs and specifications.
• Assist with negotiation of choices with clients.
• Implement cross-functional strategies to deal with business methods or systems problems.
• Evaluate requests for application upgrades to work out impact to business and integrated systems.
• Enter user needs to ticket portal for resolution.
• Database maintenance and improvements
• Collaborate with different IT employees to deal with software, networking, and hardware issues.
• Evaluate issues of finance and funding, understand cost, and return from users.
• Liaise with community to specifically examine situations, and test effective plans.
• Proactively identify gaps between current applications and future needs
• Ability to install and update needed systems access and walk users through the steps.
• Ability to test submitted customizations.
• General support, similar to help desk for new users
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum Associates degree in IT related discipline
• Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of SQL
• Working knowledge of at least one area of SAP
• Understanding of ERP system and how they interact
• Understanding of MES type of system and how they interact
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Technical Writing skills
• Working knowledge of at least one area of SAP
