Full-time Remote Inpatient Auditor
Seeking experienced inpatient auditor to perform accurate auditing assignments while working remotely. Ideal candidates need 7 years experience with extensive full-time inpatient coding in the acute care setting during the past thirty-six (36) months, MS-DRG and case mix experience, 3M experience, however will consider other encoder experience. Previous working experience working with Epic required.

Primary Responsibilities:
· Receive assigned medical charts to code and review medical charts electronically
· Accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to the patient’s record and into the client’s electronic medical record systems following Official ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Guidelines for Coding, UHDDS Guidelines and CMS directives. Perform data entry of required abstracted patient information into the client’s information system. Assigns Present on Admission (POA) indicators according to AHA POA guidelines. Verify and assign appropriate discharge dispositions for patients.
· Query physicians to clarify conflicting, imprecise, incomplete, ambiguous and/or inconsistent clinical information when appropriate
· Utilize coding resources along with any other applicable reference material available to ensure accuracy in coding
· Maintains a working knowledge of disease processes, MS-DRG classification and reimbursement structures, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding principles and rules, as well as Coding Clinic Guidelines.
· Maintains required productivity and quality requirements
· Research and resolve coding projects
· Perform ongoing analysis of medical record charts for the appropriate coding compliance
· Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
· Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
· All candidates must maintain certification through either AHIMA or AAPC. Coding certification to include the following: CPC, CCS, RHIA and RHIT (no CPC-A, RHIT A, etc.).
· 7 years of hospital inpatient medical coding experience (facility and/or consulting)
· 2 years of inpatient auditing experience (facility and/or consulting)
· Microsoft Office proficiency
· High speed internet and secure home office space
· On-line coding proficiency test will be required
· Epic test will be required
· High school diploma or GED
· 40 hours (Full-time) availability weekly
Preferred Qualifications:
· Trauma, med surg, oncology, transplant, teaching hospital coding experience
· Managed care experience
· Encoder coding experience
· APR DRG and/or other Grouper experience
