What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at jukes-ale-works?
We are looking for Line Cooks (with or without experience) who can work with high energy and a fantastic attitude in a professional manner. Line Cooks will be responsible for preparing and cooking all product to the Head Chef's specifications and standards. Duties will consist of assisting the Head Chef, preparing items for upcoming service, daily cleaning, daily/weekly equipment maintenance and managing product on the shelves and in the coolers.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stock all stations with necessary supplies, products and equipment
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat or preparing sauces & seasonings)
- Cooking all menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team
- The ability to work on your feet for long shifts
- Answer, report to and follow all instructions by Head Chef/Managers
- Ensure all food comes out simultaneously, in a high quality and timely fashion
- Comply with all food/safety regulations and standards
- Maintain a positive and professional environment for all coworkers and customers
Skills / Requirements
- Cooking experience as a Line Cook, Restaurant Cook/Chef or Prep Cook (preferably 2 years but training is also provided)
- Ability to function at a high level in a fast-paced, high intensity environment
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, times and ingredients
- Strong understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment maintenance
- Understanding and continued practice of safe and proper food handling
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned cooking, prepping or cleaning tasks
- Ability to communicate and work with a team
