Position Overview
The Workplace Driver supports Just Fare’s Office Catering and Snack & Drink programs by transporting and delivering meals and product daily from Oakland commissary kitchen to various clients in the Bay Area, including, San Francisco, Pleasanton, Alameda County, San Mateo and other locations as needed. This position requires excellent driving skills and judgment, and is responsible for ensuring all routed deliveries are on time and accurate. Drivers must be able to work quickly and safely in a high-volume environment.
In addition to the load in/out of meals and S&D offerings, Drivers may also be required to support other team members with Front of House (FOH) tasks including replenishing snacks and drinks for the entire office, restocking of snacks and beverages in the backstock areas, take inventory, brewing coffee, and maintain a clean service environment as needed. This position will drive back to our HQ in between deliveries to assist further with receiving and processing snack and drink orders as needed.
\n- Daily transportation of meals, snack & drinks and other supplies to and from commissary kitchen to client office locations throughout the Bay Area, including San Francisco, in a company-provided van.
- Load and unload catering vans (500-1000 lbs of food) daily
- Monitor time and temperature of food to ensure safe transport
- Clean cambro transport containers
- Assist with the daily execution of cleaning/upkeep protocols of your vehicle; and assist the Fleet Coordinator with bi-weekly van cleanings/detailing (as needed)
- Perform daily errands such as delivering food donations to community partners, equipment pick up, and occasional purchases from vendors
- Ensure all Snack & Drinks and other accompaniments are stocked. And as needed assist the Workplace Attendant with setup and cleaning of the coffee station including checking equipment, brewing coffee, etc
- Manage signage by ensuring they are clean and visible to the community, taking note of any additional signage that may be needed and printing, laminating and delivering new signage to client sites.
- Stock and organize all snacks and beverages according to Just Fare’s merchandising specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work/service environment
- Assist with weekly inventory as needed, for every snack and drink item delivered by Just Fare within our online inventory systems.
- Be a friendly face and host within all office kitchen areas
- Create an authentic connection with our client community and regularly check-in with the client points of contact for any program feedback.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and fill out service logs.
- Help uphold Just Fare hospitality standards.
- Send detailed end of service reports daily
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- 2 years experience in a formal kitchen environment or food operation with a passion for food and people
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication and patience
- Attendance and punctuality is required with schedule flexibility determined by needs
- Ability to be a self-sufficient problem solver and make sound decisions on-the-fly
- Basic ServSafe certification
- Strong understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Basic understanding of online inventory systems
- Experience with stocking and merchandising is a plus
- Smartphone will be needed for communication
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs in and out of a van repetitively

Schedule & Expectations
Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with hours dependent on the service. You are responsible for managing your schedule, based on your shift availability, with your supervisor.
