Bbq Chef (Early Shift)

We are located on 975 E Mc Millan in Walnut Hills.

Responsibilities

* Responsible for the daily time sensitive preparation of meat and food items on the smoker. *Maintains the cleaning of smoker shelves & racks, draining of grease and emptying of ashes from firebox and grill * Assumes responsibility for maintenance of wood including stacking, splitting when necessary and notification of low wood levels. * Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products smoked. * Knows and complies consistently with our preparation methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. * Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, warmers, smokers and refrigeration equipment. * Maintain clear and direct communication with our manager regarding your department. * Carefully wraps and stores all food items, labels all stored items, and ensures proper product rotation using first in/first out procedures (FIFO). * Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed. * Maintains strict adherence to all legal and corporate guidelines and procedures regarding Food Protection, Sanitation and worker safety. * Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. *Performs other related duties as assigned by the restaurant manager.

Qualifications

* Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel. * Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 60 pounds. * Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours). *Must be able to pay close attention to details.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Mondays. Compensation is $17.00 - $20.00/hour.

About Just Q'in BBQ: Our story began with a grill and 17 spices, competing in and around Greenville, South Carolina. When we returned to our Cincinnati roots, we started a catering service that evolved into one of the city’s premiere food trucks. In December of 2011, our first restaurant opened in Newtown and we have never looked back.
