Job Description
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that reports to the Supervisor of Student Support Services (SSS) a grant funded TRIO program and is located on the JWCC campus in Quincy, Illinois.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for providing direct required and permissible program services to participants in the grant-funded TRIO program of Student Support Services. This includes serving as a case manager to participants, advising them on academic issues, financial aid, financial literacy, and transfer and career options. This advisor must be able to assess the needs of students, and design program activities such as career exploration, financial aid workshops, campus visits, job shadowing and cultural events for groups and individuals. This position requires accurate records be maintained and will be required to accompany and provide transportation on field trips, cultural events and campus visits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a valid driver’s license. Prefer two years’ experience in related work. Excellent organizational and communication skills are required. Broad knowledge of secondary and postsecondary curricula and community support services is desirable. Preference will be given to individuals who are examples of the target population.
