We are seeking a Conflicts Analyst to join the Pittsburgh office. The Conflicts Analyst will provide support to the Conflicts Risk Assessment Lawyer team by conducting initial review and due diligence for conflict requests associated with new business and assist with ongoing risk management projects. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Director, Associate Directors, Conflicts Risk Assessmet Lawyers, Managers and Supervisors of the Conflicts and New Business Intake Department
- Assists with review of conflicts reports for new business and lateral hires
- Assists with review of conflicts reports for new business and lateral hires
- Performs research of potential clients and party(ies) using external online resources, demonstrates judgment on relevant information to include in evaluation summary
- Update/maintain standard party/corporate family designations in conflicts database
- Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Work with, and provide assistance to members of the firm’s Conflicts and New Business Intake Department in matters related to conflicts searching, conflict resolution and overall file opening processes
- Answer general and specific questions with regard to the conflicts resolution process and file openings
- Train new team members in conflicts processes and procedures when needed
- Participate in departmental projects relating to Conflicts systems as requested by department management
- Abide by all policies, work procedures, instructions and confidentiality of all information while achieving a high quality of work product
- Stay up-to-date on current legal issues and trends to ensure proper analysis and assessment of risk to the firm
- College degree in business, library science or other relevant area of study desired
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal researcher or equivalent legal experience
- Provides outstanding client service, meets high quality standards for services and meets or exceeds client expectations
- Proactive in seeking innovative ways in which to help others
- Strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills
- High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and collaborate well in a team
- Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain such information as confidential
- Candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
- This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The ability to open file cabinets, lift files, bend and stand on a stool may also be required.
