Your role in our team
- You will work as part of a multi-discipline team to support the complex design, development, maintenance, enhancement, and testing of Material Handling Systems.
- You will review system requirements and design documentation to define system control and network architecture requirements.
- You will collaborate with Electrical Engineering resources to ensure electrical control design aligns with system functionality requirements.
- You will develop, deploy, and commission PLC code aligning with system design parameters.
- You will create and integrate human-machine interface (HMI) functionality into automated Material Handling Systems.
- You will create functional test plan documentation to support system functionality testing and system throughput requirements.
- You will complete estimates for the Controls Engineering level of effort.
- You will complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction
- You obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas
- You have gained three (3) years of successful experience in a related field and successful demonstration of Knowledge and Responsibilities.
- You can travel 30%.
- You have current experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider PLC languages, architecture, and networks desired. Other platforms are a plus.
- You have expertise in understanding Electrical schematics (Motor Control Panels, Electrical Field Devices, Power Distribution).
- You have Network design experience using Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, ASI Bus, ControlNet, and DeviceNet.
- You have experience in HMI programming.
- You have experience with conveyor system electrical controls (Parcel, Baggage, etc..), large machine design, and/or motor control.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills
- You have a strong ability to document technical decisions with illustrations and clear verbal explanations
