What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance position at K2 Space?
The Role
You will be responsible for building and supporting the Finance function as we launch into the next phase of our hyper-growth. This role will partner directly with the co-founders and leadership team to support the day-to-day finance operations, and ensure successful operational decisions and strategic growth. Championing an analytical and data-driven mindset, you will implement robust financial infrastructure and strategies to support our high-velocity company.
Responsibilities
Build and own the financial strategy for planning and budgeting, capital requirements, business insights, risk, reporting, and controls
Develop and implement effective strategies to improve financial performance across all areas of the company
Deliver monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting (including annual audits)
Create and deliver detailed operating budgets, modeling, and forecasts
Oversee financial compliance with all accounting / tax / regulatory requirements
Manage relationships and communication of key financial aspects with investors, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders including commercial partners and vendors
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
6 years of finance experience, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment
Strong experience in organizations with high-level regulations and compliance
Excellent knowledge of Excel with ability to create efficient, clean, complex financial models
Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, and extensive experience with financial planning, forecasting, modeling, and data analysis
Deep understanding of US GAAP (CPA, CFA and/or MBA is preferred, but not mandatory)
Nice to Have
Space industry or aerospace experience
Proven track record of managing, mentoring, and growing a Finance team
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 and equity in the company
Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
