Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Analytics and Systems Manager is tasked with driving strategic decision-making through data analysis and maintaining the operational efficiency of the Finance department's systems. This role is a unique blend of analytical depth and systems management, designed to leverage data insights for business transformation and ensure seamless technological integration and process improvements.


This role offers an exciting opportunity for those who excel in turning data into narrative and operationalizing insights to achieve business objectives. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that interpret complex data to guide strategic and tactical business decisions, while also managing critical financial systems.


This role is designed for a visionary leader who is adept at merging analytical insight with system management to drive business success. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to both areas, defining the future of finance operations and strategic decision-making.

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Spearhead data analysis projects in collaboration with FP&A and product teams. Employ statistical techniques and business and financial modeling to extract trends and insights that directly influence strategic planning and operational improvements.
  • Storytelling Through Data: Develop compelling narratives and visualizations that communicate complex concepts in an understandable and actionable manner to stakeholders across the organization. Use tools like Tableau and Power BI to transform raw data into clear, impactful stories.
  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a key advisor to Finance leaders by providing data-driven insights that support strategic initiatives and operational enhancements. Influence key decisions through robust analytical evidence and compelling presentations.
  • Systems Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of financial systems such as Workday Adaptive Planning and Google Big Query databases. Ensure these systems support the department's analytical needs and operate with high reliability and compliance.
  • Process and Compliance Oversight: Collaborate with technical teams and external partners to improve and implement financial processes and systems. Maintain a strong controls and governance framework to ensure data integrity and effectiveness.
  • Innovative Business Transformation: Evaluate and integrate new technologies that enhance the analytical capabilities of the Finance department, such as AI tools. Lead projects to adopt these technologies, ensuring they contribute to efficiency and insight generation.


To be successful in this role, your background includes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Finance, complemented with relevant practical experience.
  • Advanced degree such as a CPA designation or MBA is highly beneficial.
  • At least 6 years of experience in roles focusing on data analysis, system design, and administration. Business analysis certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with SQL and experience in managing relational databases and conducting scheduled queries.
  • Strong familiarity with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI, with proven ability to manage large data sets and perform complex data transformations.
  • Demonstrated ability in analytical and conceptual thinking, particularly in analytical approach and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven project management skills, with a track record of leading projects to successful completion and driving change.

$98,880 - $123,600 a year
The salary range for this position is between CAD$99,800 - $123,600. This salary range is specific to candidates located in British Columbia. The salary of the successful candidate will vary within this range based on their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
