Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a full time LPN in support of the Federal Occupational Health Clinic in Glynco, GA. Great hours. Monday through Friday. - Provide direct nursing care within the scope of services defined by Kadiak for the FLETC Occupational Health Care Clinic in Glynco, GA to include basic occupational health care, individualized and/or group health education, personalized health counseling, and appropriate medical and wellness referrals for clients presenting in the occupational health center or outreach event for occupational health services.
- Performs components of physical exams which may include:
- Vital signs, height and weight
- Audiometry
- Vision testing
- ECG
- Spirometry
- Phlebotomy
- TB skin testing
- Documentation of all clinical data on all required forms
- Provides immunizations according to KGS policies, SOPs and standing orders
- Provide non-emergency care to KGS clients according to KGS RN protocols.
- Obtain patient history and pertinent family history
- Prepare patient for physical examination.
- Prepares and administers routine immunizations to adult patients.
- Carry out Nurse Clinic Manager, registered nurse and physician orders and document in patient medical record.
- Retrieve and enter pertinent data in EHR and other computer based systems. Communicate pertinent patient data to the appropriate provider.
- Possess knowledge of actions and usual dosages of most commonly used ambulatory clinic drugs and record in medical record.
- Recognize emergency situations and initiate appropriate resuscitative measures.
- Assist in patient education regarding prescribed procedures.
- Excellent communication and organization skills and ability to perform identified nursing services.
- Report site-specific problems to the Nurse Clinic Manager (e.g., staffing difficulties, supply issues, environment of care hazards, onsite operational emergencies, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Reports to the Nurse Clinic Manager, who is ultimately responsible for the nursing program of the area.
- Supports operational leaders in implementing and sustaining patient experience improvement initiatives.
- Perform quality control checks and operator maintenance for a variety of patient care equipment.
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested
- Responsible for direct supervision of Medical Assistants
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) School
- Possess a valid, current license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) to practice nursing as a LPN and be licensed to practice as a LPN in at least one state in the United States.
- One year related experience preferred.
- Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- CAOHC Certification a plus
- NIOSH spirometry/training certification a plus
- Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance, per government requirements
- At least one (1) year of experience in occupational health or related experience such as public health/community health, outpatient clinic, emergency department or ambulatory healthcare, or physician office nursing.
- Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
- Proficient with MS Office applications, including Sharepoint, Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task; ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Superior ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Interpret statistical analysis reports and convey analysis to clinic personnel. Must possess ability to speak and understand English at college graduate level or higher.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Superior ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Intermediate computer skills are essential in use of an electronic medical record.
Working Environment & Conditions:
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
