We are seeking a Manager/Director of Fraud Prevention to join our growing Risk team. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust fraud prevention strategies to safeguard our portfolio and protect the integrity of our products.
You will perform daily fraud monitoring of application activity, consumer payment behaviors, and chargebacks, and you will report the results of daily/weekly/monthly reviews. Working closely with partners and leveraging internal and external data, you will conduct thorough investigations to identify potential fraud issues, patterns, and fraud rings, and work closely with partners to confirm and mitigate the risk effectively. In addition, you will conduct audits to ensure that all merchant and customer procedures are being followed, document audit findings, and notify management of significant issues.
- Design and deploy comprehensive fraud monitoring reports working closely with the risk analytical team and other partners; own monitoring of Kafene’s merchant network, consumer applications, payments, and delinquent and unbillable customers.
- Conduct timely fraud investigations based on reports, merchant feedback, consumer fraud complaints, and reviews from servicing teams to identify and prevent potential fraud attacks, patterns, and rings.
- Monitor chargeback and fraud ratios, dispute credit card & ACH chargebacks, and analyze chargeback/fraud data to make recommendations for new business procedures.
- Foster relationships across Product, Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations, Customer Success, and other internal teams to gather evidence and align fraud mitigation policies and procedures.
- May participate in external fraud meetings to understand new fraud trends and fraud prevention tools.
- 5 years of experience in financial services, with a focus on fraud case review and operations.
- Strong fraud investigation skill sets with attention to detail to link various events to identify fraud behaviors.
- Proven track record in developing an enterprise-wide fraud operation strategy in the financial industry.
- Knowledge of BSA, AML, OFAC, US Patriot Act, Red Flags Rule, Reg E. and related laws preferred
- Ability to multitask prioritize workload and follow up with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to meet all deadlines while maintaining productivity, quality, and department adherence standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with partners to drive business forward.
- Python or SQL experience preferred
- Base Salary: Earn a competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 - $135,000 a year.
