Practice Leader – Science Technology

By strategically leveraging our existing portfolio and your expertise, you will expand our reach and design the next generation of facilities on campuses and private businesses throughout the country.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities of a Practice Leader – Science Technology:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities of a Practice Leader – Science Technology:
Leadership
- Inspire and lead a growing Science Technology team in client service, design approach, and project delivery
- Establishing an environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and design creativity
- Contribute to a high level of energy and enthusiasm on the team, and foster a spirit of collaborative problem solving and design excellence
- Stay at the forefront of trends in design and clients' issues, adding to the firm’s thought leadership initiatives by actively contributing with writing, speaking and/or design research
Project Development
- Manage and lead teams to deliver transformational experiences for owners and users, providing strategic advisory and project design leadership
- Leads the generation and translation of design and planning concepts into final solutions with the overall responsibility for client satisfaction and financial performance
Business Development
- Leads the development of strategies and the implementation of marketing efforts for the Workplace team
- Achieve mutually established annual business objectives
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of a Practice Leader – Science Technology:
- 10 years as a design professional
- Professional degree in Architecture, and/or Engineering, or equivalent combination of related experience and/or training
- Registered Architect, Interior Designer or Engineer; LEED AP preferred
- 5 years of experience of building and maintaining client relationships in the Science Technology market
- Bring established client relationships that will result in Kahler Slater growth
- Proven ability to build business and deliver complex Sciences Technology projects
- Strong communications skills, spoken, written, and graphic
- Focuses on collaboration and cooperation with others, demonstrating team leadership
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to handle conflict directly and tactfully
- Subject matter expertise revealed through discussions, presentations, writings, references, and the active professional relationships you maintain
- Able to work effectively under pressure and within restrictive time deadlines and budget parameters while maintaining focus, positive attitude
Working Relationships and Scope of a Practice Leader – Science Technology:
- Reports to Health Science Team Leader
- Collaborates with team and firm leaders
- Represents the firm in alignment with Kahler Slater’s core values
- Mentors staff members
Working conditions of a Practice Leader – Science Technology:
Some travel between our office locations will be required to serve clients, develop new business, and for professional development. We expect this travel to be less than 25%.
