Staff Accountant Level 1

High-volume 40-year-old novelty company located in Delaware County is seeking an Entry Level Accountant to join our team.  This individual will have a hand in several critical accounting functions, collaborating with the Controller. To ensure success as an Entry Level Accountant, the ideal candidate will be a passionate team player that can effectively manage multiple tasks.  This position will launch a solid career path for the right person in a fast paced, exciting environment. Requirements

Essential Job Functions:  

• Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes. 
• Calculate various monthly accruals. 
• Assist in quarterly royalty and commissions processes and reconciliation. 
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts. 
• Review expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned. 
• Provide supplemental support to A/P, A/R and payroll teams when needed. 
• Review transactional data for accuracy and consistency. 
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports. 
• Assist with other accounting projects and other responsibilities as assigned by management. 

Minimum Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience  
• 1-2 years related accounting experience preferred 
• Strong work ethic, high level of motivation, willingness to learn quickly 
• Passion for problem solving and business process improvement 
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices 
• Advanced Excel skills required.  Proficiency in all other Microsoft Office programs:  Word, Outlook, and Teams 
• Experience with ERP systems, databases
