Position Summary:
The role of the QC/QA & Safety Manager encompasses overseeing quality control and assurance activities, as well as environmental and occupational health and safety functions. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to production, environmental, health, and safety processes, conducting assessments, developing policies, and collaborating with teams to implement procedures and standards. The manager will also lead internal audits, assist external auditors, and ensure compliance with local and global standards.
Essential Duties:
1. Establish and support quality practices within manufacturing, conduct audits, and provide technical support for failure analysis.
2. Review, revise, and implement quality management systems (QMS) and standards, perform quality control tests, and analyze non-conforming items.
3. Act as a liaison between Manufacturing and Engineering, providing input for new product development and process improvements.
4. Verify technical information, ensure safety protocols, and maintain a safety-focused culture.
5. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices, Health & Safety standards, and ensure quality within areas of responsibility.
6. Perform other duties as assigned, including cross-departmental assignments.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Quality or related field.
- 5 years of Manufacturing/Quality experience.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality and safety systems.
- Six Sigma and OSHA certifications are advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to make critical decisions and lead during emergencies.
Physical Requirements:
- Exposure to various environmental factors and physical demands typical in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Ability to lift, bend, and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Vision and hearing requirements, as well as the use of personal protective equipment.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
