Overview
The Painter I is responsible for the operation of manually operated hand painting equipment as well as automatic paint line for application of final finish to prescribed specifications.'
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces to be painted as required by work instructions, using spray guns, rollers and brushes.
- Ensures the use of appropriate technical references and tools in performing paint duties.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all used painting equipment. Keep work areas clean and organized daily.
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing proper safety equipment (e.g. – Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)) and following procedures. Proactively identify and take corrective action to eliminate unsafe behaviors and conditions
- Maintain established production rates at expected quality levels.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
- Must demonstrate effective reasoning ability when communicating with internal customers

Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
- 1 year of related painting/coating application experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Applied Math: Level 4, or demonstrated ability (Add, subtract, units of measure, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals).
- Reading: Level or demonstrated ability
- Random drug and alcohol testing program as required by the FAA
