Kamehameha Schools is seeking three full-time Strategy Consultants who will serve a key role in leading, managing and coordinating various initiatives. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think critically and analytically, communicate effectively at multiple levels, connect between big-picture and concrete work pieces, lead and manage teams through change and develop, implement, and monitor enterprise-level strategies.
- One (1) Strategy Consultant will support community investing and partnerships
- Two (2) Strategy Consultants will support data systems and strategic reporting
Note: Candidates may be hired into level II or III depending on experience.
Currently, this is a hybrid position which provides in-person and remote work flexibility and requires some travel. However, is subject to change in the future.
Job SummaryLeads and adds value to support organizational goals and strategies through the development/planning, implementation, monitoring and communications of enterprise-level strategy and key initiatives.
Essential ResponsibilitiesEnterprise-level Strategy Development and Implementation
- Manages significant portions of enterprise-level strategy development and planning efforts.
- Strategic Alignment – As a partner with group/divisional leaders, develops and implements KS strategies across multiple business lines (Education, Community Engagement and Support) ensuring the alignment of group/divisional activities with the organization ‘s mission, vision and enterprise-level goals and strategies.
- Works with executive leadership to design, facilitate selection of, manage and implement KS ‘ enterprise portfolio.
- Gathers, interprets, evaluates data, and develops integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making.
- Using project management, analysis and business process skills plan, deliver on and lead critical strategic initiatives that have enterprise implications with high quality results and within set parameters.
- Develops implementation programs and leads multidisciplinary team to execute initiative/project deliverables including budget and cost management.
- Change Management – Manages, trains and supports unit leadership and teams through changes associated with specific organizational initiatives and projects. Deals effectively with change and ambiguity and readily adjusts approach and efforts accordingly.
- Innovation – Designs and facilitates innovative frameworks, approaches and models to assess organization opportunities for transformational change.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Manages and implements short and long range system-wide educational and community engagement planning efforts via facilitation of discussion, statistical, organizational and/or program analyses.
- Manages and implements strategy-level performance measurement, evaluation, monitoring and reporting to update and inform leadership on organization performance, work progress and active/emerging issues or initiatives.
Communications and Collaborations
- Effective listener who can cultivate and facilitate clear, consistent and open communication and information sharing within S&I and between all organization levels (CEO, Vice Presidents, inter-KS groups and staff).
- Constructs and implements project and program level communications strategies.
- Enables collaborative cross-functional teaming and are responsive and flexible to the variety of KS needs (organization, community, function).
- Regarded as valued team member on cross-functional project teams and initiatives with ability to builds consensus across groups and diffuse conflict.
Leadership and Management
- Leads, manages and motivates teams to higher levels of performance through clear expectations, development, creative problem solving and knowing what to prioritize and what to delegate.
- Ability to maintain project team performance while dealing with high pressure deliverables and deadlines. Ability to influence others through setting of shared goals, communication, data sharing and transparency. A good negotiator who is able to cultivate and manage relationships with all team members. Fosters and maintains a high performance environment based on teamwork, commitment, accountability, cooperation, collaboration and direct, timely feedback.
- Serves as mentor to junior staff.
Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, Social Science or related fields.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience and progressive responsibility in management consulting, systems integration or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of Team Lead, Functional Lead, or similar experience.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and handle complex, multiple, simultaneous projects and meet established timelines and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to understand processes and identify common cause/effect impacting a process and implement process improvements.
- Ability to analyze and conceptualize, and to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and with highly confidential information.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, management and supervision skills to work effectively with management and staff at various levels in the organization as part of a project team.
- Ability to be flexible, learn new systems and processes as required.
- Strong working knowledge of and experience in automating office processes using standard office desktop applications.
- Strong emotional quotient and interpersonal skills.
- Strong systemic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to travel to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed to meet goals and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licenses and/or certifications in respective fields of related work (e.g. PMP, Six Sigma, IIBA, or ASQ certification).
- Previous experience working in an indigenous, education or nonprofit setting.
- Knowledge of Hawaiian culture, history and/or language.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
- Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.
Working Conditions
- This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
- Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
- Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours.
