The Digital Learning Coach was established for the purpose of promoting, supporting, and maintaining effective integration of technology in the classroom and to build capacity and efficacy district faculty and staff in utilizing technology for instruction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides instructional coaching services through formal coaching cycles with teachers that are focused on the integration of instructional technology in the classroom.
- Provides professional development in the area of digital learning aligned with KCPS initiatives and curriculum.
- Provides consultation and support to building leadership, coaches, PD chairs and Library Media Specialists on planning and implementing technology integration.
- Provides input in the development of system-wide and building level programs that enable students and teachers to use technology to enhance learning.
- Gathers information documenting the effectiveness of digital learning programs, interprets the information, and provides input in evaluation of the various programs.
- Maintains current knowledge of technology and instructional practices that relate to the integration of technology.
- Participates in professional development opportunities offered internal and externally.
- Communicates, plans collaboratively, and develops partnerships with other district departments, school administrators, building staff, vendors and the broader community as needed.
- Maintains and submits documentation of support in schools.
- Works in direct collaboration with curriculum coordinators to support classroom use and best practices with content specific digital resources.
- Assists in all academic programs and initiatives as needed.
- Provides first level IT support for all instructional related technology.
- Supports teacher use of district SIS.
- Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and/or representing the district to external individuals and/or organizations.
- Fulfills instructional technology needs related to any district partnerships or initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Teaching Certification and/or Master’s Degree or higher in education or related field.
- Experience coaching and providing PD.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices in instructional technology integration.
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Administrative certification.
- Terminal Degree in education or related field.
