POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, the Safety Intern provides support for the Zoo & Aquarium’s workplace safety program. This position will assist the Safety Manager with various administrative tasks but may at times support the Human Resource Department with various initiatives, projects, or activities.
This is a 6-month seasonal position, working up to 40 hours per week, starting in March. Seasonal start and end dates may vary based upon individual availability and team needs.

Participates in various activities or projects to increase knowledge base surrounding Zoo & Aquarium operations, conservation, and workforce readiness, including, but not limited to:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- EXPERIENCE:
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and audio-visual equipment, preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Positive attitude and dependable.
- Must be able to work in all weather extremes.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and evening hours.
- Valid driver’s license desired.
- Must pass a background and drug screening.
