Mgr, Driver

What we need you to do:

• Coach and manage driver team to ensure high on-time delivery performance and fleet profitability.
• Monitoring driver performance by conducting regular audits to ensure that drivers are following company policies and procedures
• Reviewing and interview new driver applicants to determine if they meet qualifications for employment.
• Communicating with other departments within the company to arrange for repairs or maintenance of vehicles when needed
• Source vehicle supplies where necessary to align with branding guidelines
• Conduct regular site visits to depots to harbor a strong relationship with depot partners
• Streamline IT related issues from drivers to Kaptyn service desk
• Scheduling shifts for drivers based on their availability, using a computerized scheduling system
• Supporting the training of new drivers to ensure that they are prepared to work safely and efficiently
• Making sure that all maintenance on company vehicles is performed in a timely manner by authorized personnel
• Conducting regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they are safe to drive and in good working condition
• Continuously evaluating processes in place for improvement and efficiencies
• Reviewing driver performance to determine if any corrective action is needed
• Monitor safety systems and coach drivers on unsafe behaviors when necessary

What you need to have:

• 5 years of experience leading drivers and fleet operations
• Valid Drivers License
• Strong experience with driver and fleet operations management practices and KPIs.
• Strong experience with working with driver and fleet management technologies.
• Ability to work comfortably with all levels of leadership.
• Ability to work amongst numerous distractions and take work direction from more than one person and prioritize accordingly.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent team player with skills to effectively communicate with a diverse team.
• Coaching and communication skills.
• Ability to deal with demanding drivers, customers and escalations.
• Self-starter with a sense of extreme ownership and displays a commitment to quality and teamwork
