SUMMARY OF PURPOSE
The Temporary Designer II performs the same functions as a Designer (see below). They have more experience in the field and, as such, are expected to perform at a noticeably higher level (quality and efficiency). They have demonstrated a selfless dedication to team and willingness to do what it takes to get work done. A Designer II helps to maintain an inspirational atmosphere and provides design insights to designers and junior designers while embodying the Patch Values.
The designer drives the design and visual experience of multiple online and print projects. The designer collaborates with copywriters, programmers, and launch managers to ensure finished designs meet high quality standards and are completed on time. When developing Kasasa marketing materials for client financial institutions, the designer participates in client calls to inform client on design process and design decisions, helping steer clients to a path that yields successful, user-friendly marketing collateral. In the absence of direct conversations, the designer coaches internal clients (Launch Managers, Project Managers, and Marketing Team) via written communication. Though the core focus is Kasasa Product Design & Marketing, a designer should be able to contribute to team efforts in other areas as opportunities arise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction.
  • Create designs that meet the “best in class” standard
  • Stand out as a top performer on design team
  • Give useful feedback to more junior designers to help elevate their work
  • Ensure that designs not only look great, but perform great as well (defined as being easy to use and lead to sales conversions)
  • Maintain knowledge of current best practices for web usability
  • Excel at every phase of design process (conception, comp presentation, execution, design QA, maintenance)
  • Collaborate with programmers and copywriters
  • Participate in client calls to inform client on design process and decisions
  • Participate in peer reviews with other designers and help improve
  • Maintain expertise in the latest trends in digital design and technology relating to online advertising, print, and mobile applications
  • Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 4 years professional design experience
  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite in Mac platform
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and presentations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for web usability
  • Takes initiative to determine and address the needs of the organization
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects with strict deadlines
  • Strong communication skills in a cross-functional environment
  • Attention to detail and passion for quality
  • Willingness to keep pace with the latest internet technologies and design innovations
  • Impressive portfolio
  • Preferred familiarity with JIRA
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without restrictions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sitting for extended periods of time; approximately 5-6 hours per day
  • Simultaneous use of hand, wrist and fingers
  • Daily operation of standard office equipment
  • Frequent use of oral communication to perform work
  • Lifts and moves up to 20 pounds occasionally
