Overview
The NYC office of Kaufman Dolowich, an AV-rated® firm designated one of the “Best Companies to Work For” among U.S. law firms by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a Litigation Associate with a minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in insurance defense litigation including general liability, NY labor law and commercial litigation. The candidate would be joining a growing, dynamic firm with more than 200 attorneys nationwide.
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated attorney seeking to grow with an expanding practice. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in and oversee written discovery, take and defend depositions, and participate in extensive motion practice and oral arguments.
Qualifications
- Represent clients in a wide range of insurance defense matters.
- Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from inception through resolution.
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
- Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
- Minimum of 4 - 6 years of defense litigation.
- Admitted to practice in New York.
- Superior academic credentials from a top tier accredited law school.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
The total annual compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $175,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to base salary, Kaufman Dolowich offers an annual discretionary bonus, performance-based bonus, unlimited PTO, professional and client development and a full comprehensive benefits package.
