Human Resource Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Senior Director, the Human Resources (HR) Manager will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing programs and policies for staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and training. Due to high growth in the company, this position will initially emphasize recruiting and working with hiring managers to establish parameters, roles, and responsibilities. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least seven years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Partners with hiring managers to recruit new employees and takes on responsibilities based on the hiring manager’s needs.
- Develops effective recruiting/acquisition and new hire process, including developing effective job descriptions and prospecting the most effective advertising and placement of job postings.
- Plans, conducts and assists in new employee orientation, including distribution of all New Hire Paperwork and communication of all company benefits, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for employee payroll processing
- Maintains all HR compliance-related employee files and records.
- Main contact for all employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Administers all benefit programs and is responsible for benefit audits and 5500 form filing.
- Develops and manage appropriate salary/compensation plans and strategy.
- Drives and administers the employee review process across the company to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
- Assists in preparing performance plans, disciplinary paperwork, separation notices, and related documentation.
- Represents the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Develops an Employee Retention Program, including working across available resources to determine key triggers and drivers to reduce turnover and improve loyalty and implementing effective employee recognition or rewards program.
REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, employee engagement, and employee development.
- Better than average written and spoken communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship-building and employee coaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.
- Evidence of the ability to practice and coach organization managers in the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.
- A minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources.
- PHR certification required; SPHR certification preferred.
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, and training, preferred.
- Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations is preferred.
- Experience working in a multi-state organization preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, fast-growing organization preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Employee must be able to lift at least 5 lbs and up to 40 lbs
- Employee will frequently utilize their hands and fingers
- Employee will be frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk
- Employee will be required to bend, twist, stoop and or kneel
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to work in an office setting.
- Position may require travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-town travel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
