Position Summary:
Support the Network Manager in managing the daily functionality of all IT systems for KBE and the KBE Companies at all locations. Provides level 2 help desk support and technology training for the organization. Serves as backup to the Help Desk Technician. Works with the rest of the IT department on upgrades and technology rollouts.
- Include the following and other duties as assigned.
- Daily administration and support of IT systems as well as their backups.
- Administration, maintenance, and ongoing support of critical business systems including Email, VPN, Internet connectivity, telephony, and all other network systems.
- Also includes other offices and remote jobsites.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with usage guidelines for email system, approved software, and network usage.
- Manage email anti-spam/phishing, anti-malware protection implementations, and other cybersecurity related systems.
- Manage and oversee the company’s fleet of mobile devices.
- Log, report and monitor network, server and security infrastructure while adhering to procedures.
- Work with the Network Manager to ensure continuous improvement to technology initiatives.
- Recommend enhancements to existing systems as new technology becomes available.
- Installation and maintenance of any new applications and systems as well as upgrades to current applications and systems.
- Travel, as needed, to assist other offices and job sites.
- Provide level 2 help desk support for employees, as well as level 1 help desk support when the Help Desk Technician is out of the office. Also serves as backup for new employee laptop and mobile device setup.
- Special projects as assigned.
Education, Experience, & Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science and/or 3 years of IT experience in a corporate environment, 2 of which must include providing end user support/help desk.
- Working knowledge of various software/systems and ability to research independently to find appropriate solutions.
- Experience working with multifactor authentication and other cybersecurity controls.
- Able to multi-task and switch priorities as needed.
- Possess excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeaner.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Excellent communication in verbal, written or diagram form.
- Ability to train staff as requested on various technologies.
- Advanced knowledge for trouble shooting and upgrading purposes of; Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365 platform, MS Windows 10/11, MS Windows Server 2016 and newer, MS SQL Server, VMware, Apple iOS, wireless routers, network switches, printers, and copiers.
- Strong Analytical skills, ability to develop workflows, advanced problem solving and creative thinking capabilities.
