What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Facility Security Officer position at KBR?
KBR is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join KBR’s Commercial Security team. Our AFSOs work with and communicate with a wide range of people including vendors, customers, executives and staff. He or she must have the ability to communicate with internal and external contacts, both orally and in writing, to seek or convey information and coordinate arrangements. The AFSO must be comfortable functioning with limited work supervision in a team-focused environment. The AFSO is responsible for roles and responsibilities aligned with that of a Security Generalist. Regular M-F standard business hours with some flexibility apply but also with some requirement from time-to-time to surge on the front or back end of a standard business day based on customer or company requirements.
Description/Responsibilities:
- Supporting all DoD Collateral, personnel, program, document control, education/awareness, and security management policies and procedures.
- Supporting and assisting in the maintenance of personnel clearance/access databases, and document control databases.
- Coordinate classified visits.
- Implement reporting requirements under the NISPOM/32 CFR (adverse reporting, foreign travel, foreign contract, and suspicious contact reporting).
- Assisting with Foreign travel and foreign contract paperwork.
- Assisting with Insider Threat Program.
- Conduct Annual Refresher Training and Insider Threat Training.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Past experience as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO).
- Experience dealing with personnel, program and Automated Information Systems (AIS) related incidents.
- Familiarity with all aspects of Program Security to include personnel, document control, and education/awareness.
- Knowledge of security management policies and procedures (NISPOM/SUPP/M1/ICDs/DCIDs)
- Customers' clearance processing procedures and document control regulation.
- Experience with continue evaluation monitoring and/or DCSA vulnerability assessments.
- Proven ability to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to follow-up and follow-through.
- Self-starter with demonstrated initiative.
- Ability to organize time, manage diverse activities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Duties are performed under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of the 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117, NISPOM
- Background with the National Industrial Security System (NISS)
- Background with Joint Personnel Adjudicative System (JPAS)
- Background with the Defense Information Security System (DISS)
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of EQIP/JPAS/DISS/NISS and/or other Industry software applications.
- Familiarity with personnel requirements among the Intelligence Community and DoD.
- Familiarity with personnel security requirements for DoD and Intelligence Community.
- Previous experience leading teams is a plus.
Security Requirements: Must have a minimum active TS/SCI eligible security clearance.
