Position Overview / Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

.

The Government Solutions - U.S. (GSUS) Vice President & People Partner provides overall leadership, strategy and direction as part of the GSUS executive leadership team to achieve our customers' critical global missions and achieve people, financial and growth goals for a business comprised of 15,000 employees and revenues of more than $4B. The successful candidate will partner closely with executive Operations and the global People Leadership Team and lead a group of highly talented Divisional People Partners to develop and optimize innovative People-focused strategies that effectively attract, engage, develop, and retain the technically diverse and incredibly committed workforce required to support our broad customer base. Leveraging industry-leading corporate resources and customizing GSUS-specific initiatives and programs, this executive will develop and implement organizational structures, talent resourcing requirements, workforce transition plans, career planning, reward and performance management tools and talent succession plans necessary to build organizational capabilities. This role also ensures the delivery of effective change management, employee relations, employee communications and inclusion and diversity programs to ensure optimal levels of employee engagement.

The Vice President, Human Resources will:

  • Work closely with the Chief People Officer and the KBR's People Leadership Team to help develop strategic plans for the global organization.
  • .
  • Inspire the GSUS People team to deliver creative, future focused People initiatives to continually evolve the Employee Value Proposition, including (but not limited to) Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Learning, Business Partnering, Talent Development, Organizational Effectiveness, Diversity & Inclusion, Wellbeing, Retention, Compensation and Reward, HR Systems and Analytics to ensure that the organization has the required talent that is innovative, agile, and high performing.

  • Champion collaboration across KBR exploiting synergies, sharing knowledge and expertise and building enterprise-wide campaigns which drive strategic growth and success for the One KBR family.

  • Operate as a strategic, HR business advisor to the senior management team, with solid business acumen, analytical skills and sound judgement to provide pragmatic commercial advice and critical thinking, challenge point-of-views when necessary and offering alternative, constructive suggestions to build talent capabilities and innovative solutions to support growth.

  • Advocate for a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture, embodying a values-driven, employee-centric organization.

  • Develop, mentor, and guide the HR team to be business-oriented, proactive and results-oriented.

  • Ensure the implementation of excellent HR services and solutions across the different GSUS businesses with timely and consistent delivery. Ensure HR effectiveness and that support is allocated appropriately to meet the changing needs of the organization.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

.

The Vice President & People Partner will be a strong HR and business leader with experience setting and implementing strategy. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a senior HR leader for a top tier professional services firm, consulting or similar government services provider organization with multiple lines of business. This executive will be able to be an effective partner/influencer/ confidant to executive leaders and teams. Specifically, this executive will have/be:

  • Proven track record of executing and delivering on strategic HR initiatives with a deep understanding of 'best-in-class' human resources concepts, practices, and processes within the US government services environment ensuring HR's contribution to the organization's operational, financial and growth success.
  • .
  • 15 years of HR Generalist experience including 5 years in a senior HR leadership role. Broad experience across all areas of HR, preferably in a global environment. Experience to include represented and Service Contract Act/Davis Bacon Act-covered employees.
  • .
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in human resources management or related HR or business discipline or equivalent experience required.
  • .
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance at a level of Secret or above. Top Secret clearance is preferred.
  • .
  • Up to date knowledge and experience of employment law, government services compliance requirements (including FAR, OFCCP, SCA) and company policies and procedures.
  • .
  • A history of establishing trust with professionals throughout an organization, functioning as a leader, advisor, business partner.
  • .
  • Ability to make a measurable impact on the business, orchestrating networks and knowledge effectively to consistently deliver the people strategy and exceed business expectations.
  • .
  • Confident and effective relationship building skills at an executive level along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • .
  • Excellent project and program management skills. monitored and driven projects through established metrics while understanding the nuances of the organization (being organizationally aware).
  • .
  • Proactive and self-starter. approaches responsibilities with a thoughtful and appropriate sense of urgency - operates with a sense of responsiveness to the business and for the business and accustomed to working in a lean, dynamic organization where everyone roles their sleeves up.
  • .
  • Experience evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions and leadership of resulting large workforce and systems integrations with consideration of operations, people, and culture.
  • .
  • Strategy and support to growth imperatives, portfolio mix, proposal activities.
  • .
  • Articulate communicator, both verbal and written. communicates in a transparent manner to ensure seamless execution and coordination of strategic efforts.
  • .
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to cut through to the core of an issue.

  • Proven experience managing change and integration work.
  • .
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective communicator at all levels of the organization. Has the ability to express ideas clearly and persuasively, and diplomatic/politically aware as needed.

Candidates will ideally work from one of our larger population centers of the Washington metro area, Houston TX, or Huntsville AL with the ability to travel as needed to conduct required activities at KBR and customer locations.
