Designer – Core Products
Summary:
As a Designer, you will be working independently and collaboratively with other designers, design engineers, and others who are responsible for the design, support, and manufacturing of roof curb and/or curb-adapter products (Core Products). You will be responsible for taking a product from concept to production to customer with a focus on product design, manufacturing efficiency, and manufacturing requirements.

As a Designer, you will be working independently and collaboratively with other designers, design engineers, and others who are responsible for the design, support, and manufacturing of roof curb and/or curb-adapter products (Core Products). You will be responsible for taking a product from concept to production to customer with a focus on product design, manufacturing efficiency, and manufacturing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize SOLIDWORKS and other related software to create and maintain 3D part and assembly models, drawings and bills of materials (BOM) to support a cross functional group of sales, purchasing, and production personnel.
- Collaborate with Design Engineers for the creation and maintenance of product documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve product quality, increase production efficiency, and reduce cost.
- Incumbent will ensure that all information and specifications provided to our internal and external customers will be correct, complete, accurate, clear and concise; and will be presented in a timely manner.
- Manage ERP system data as assigned.
- Create Manufacturing job packets.
- Work with Sales, Production and other engineering staff to help create and maintain sales support documentation.
- Perform feasibility, functionality, and quality testing of designs.
- Identify areas for and participate in efforts for continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Adhere to safety standards at all times.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of a 3D modeling software (SOLIDWORKS preferred).
- Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft products.
- Strong hands-on/mechanical aptitude.
- Communication proficiency.
- Strong decision making, organizational and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in design or related field or equivalent related experience.
- Above average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
