Duties, Responsibilities & Other
KCI is looking for bright and highly motivated college students to support and learn from our talented and diverse team of engineers, planners, scientists, and construction managers. The intern will work under the supervision of a technical manager within one of KCI's many diverse consulting, engineering, scientific,construction or design practices to gain exposure to real world projects and daily work tasks. Summer interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required during the period from mid-May to the end of August. Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations. Depending on the selected candidates’ career field, the duties may include:
- Enrolled in a college program.
- Assist in the development of plans, quantities and cost estimates
- Conduct data analysis and reporting
- Complete field surveys or laboratory assignments
- Apply quality control procedures in alignment with ISO.
- Communicate with client(s) on a limited basis
- Provide on-time delivery of project expectations with favorable feedback
- Perform administrative or office management duties.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A valid current driver’s license
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

- Participate in cross - training as requested to build a stronger team
- Communicate your work flow needs to your team and to your supervisor
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
- Accurately record and report your work each day on the forms provided
- Inspect and correct your own work before turning it in
- Perform all task assignments using required industry standards
- Review all work assigned to you before beginning your work
- Understand all applicable industry standards for your assigned tasks
- Work with your team to maximize your production and accuracy to help us achieve our goal
