Duties, Responsibilities & Other

In the role of the Sr. HR Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Human Resourcess and you will be responsible for:

  • Partners with the HR leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, retention, and succession planning.
  • Proactively helps guide the talent management agenda, proactively learns about the business needs and seen as a key member of the leadership team
  • Support organizational change and development as it evolves, influencing leaders to address organizational issues where required for business success.
  • Creates and administers human resource programs including, but not limited to, employee recognition, performance management, benefits and compensation, and culture initiatives
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • HR reporting & analytics in generating insights and communicating findings back to the business, as well as supervising and disseminating key HR data.
  • Provides support and coaching to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Manages the employee engagement survey process including planning, maximizing participation, coordinating the appropriate action plans, and proactively managing follow-up.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to management of special projects.

 

Additional Supervisory responsibilities to include:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the HR department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Sets objectives for the Human Resources team,and provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensures the HR staff addresses employees’ requests and responses in a timely manner.
  • Manage/directly supervise and develop a staff of 3-5 employees

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be a thought partner and counselor to business leaders, unafraid to intervene and guide discussions on talent management.
  • Relationship builder with ability to ‘say no’ – dedicated at prioritizing initiatives in the face of changing business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work, manage, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and on deadline; aptitude for problem solving and decision making needed
  • Strong collaborator with effective interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to seamlessly work across organizational units required
  • Strong functional HR expertise in compensation, performance management, employee engagement, coaching and development, conflict resolution, and data analytics.
  • Ability to own and drive execution and impact across the employee lifecycle with precision.
  • Proven track record to cultivate trust and willingness among colleagues and clients together with a reputation for high personal integrity.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Familiar with OFCCP and Affirmation Action Plans
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to travel

 Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience in human resources management
  • Experience as a Compensation Specialist/Analyst
  • Prior experience as a Senior HR Manager or relevant position.
  • Demonstrated success in HR management supporting employee groups of 500 employees in multiple locations within the US is required.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position

Performance Expectations

 

  • Complete Annual Individual Training Program
  • Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Conduct periodic office visits and address HR needs of remote employees
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned
  • Represent KCI in a positive and professional manner in response to employee HR inquiries and in all external matters
  • Manage the daily work routine of all assigned employees and assign job activities as required
  • Prepare and submit monthly HR activity report to Director of HR
  • Assist HR Director with evaluation and successful integration of new employees obtained through KCI acquisitions
  • Conduct annual benchmarking of benefits program and recommend options/changes
  • Develop and manage the Corporate compensation and incentive program
  • Conduct Annual Compensation Surveys, analyze results, and recommend changes
  • Track and report on monthly/annual HR metrics
  • Recommend and develop company HR policies and procedures, in accordance with all Federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Support the process for KCI's Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program
  • Oversee HRIS/Payroll initiatives and activities
  • Propose, organize, and manage ESOP activities to maximize employee engagement
  • Provide guidance to managers and ensure KCI adheres to all Federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Review and approve Educational Assistance Requests
  • Monitor personnel information management and ensure compliance with all Federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Oversee HR compliance audits as required
  • Oversee and manage pre-employment processes (i.e. background requests, drug tests, and MVR’s)
