Summary
Kitsap Credit Union is hiring for a full-time salaried hybrid Director of Human Resources to work out of our Harborside location in beautiful Kitsap County. The Director, Human Resources is responsible for directing employees and ensuring that our human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and stay in alignment with overall business objectives. This position will oversee, plan, lead, direct, develop, and/or coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the HR department ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the mission and talent strategies. Oversees, promotes and/or implements human resources values and programs including compensation; benefits; employee relations; performance management; talent acquisition; succession planning; employee life cycle; policies and procedures; and risk mitigation.

Typical Job Duties
- Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including; talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, and AA/EEO compliance.
- Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, developing, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; resolving problems; and implementing change.
- Supports management by providing human resources direction, advice, and counsel. Guides management and employee actions by developing HR guidelines, communicating the guidelines and enforcing organization values.
- Leads compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including any related to EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, Unemployment, and L&I.
- Oversees employee benefit programs including enrollment, compliance testing, administration, and vendor management. Facilitates the 401(k) committee meetings ensuring compliance and fiduciary responsibility.
- Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values. Partner with leaders to develop manageable standards that promote efficiency and protect from risk. Lead efforts to update and maintain the handbook.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
- Minimum 8 years’ related work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-SCP/CP, SPHR/PHR, and/or CCP/CBP certifications.
- Master’s Degree.
