What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate-ZNI position at Keck School of Medicine?
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our group in studying inflammation in translational models of stroke and cerebrovascular disease. Candidates are sought with background in surgical techniques (murine) and general laboratory skills (immunohistochemistry, western blot etc). Preference will be given to candidates with previous surgical (stroke) experience but any candidate capable of, or interested in, performing basic murine surgeries will be considered. Candidates are expected to be highly independent creative, and motivated.
Provides general laboratory assistance to support research activities. Conducts research experiments in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols. Performs assignments which are non-routine and vary in complexity with minimal direction. Compiles data and computes results for a variety of research procedures, tests and techniques.
Preferred experience in animal surgery, histochemistry and western blotting technical skills. Cell culture experience would be helpful, not as high priority as the other skills
