THE POSITION
· Prepares required documents for shipping.
· Performs checks for accuracy of order.
· Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies production manager.
· Maintains shipping database for On-Time Shipping performance, prepares reports, and files shipping/receiving records.
- Will operate a dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; will operate shrink-wrap equipment to secure product for storage and shipment; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; and will lock warehouse. Ensures that daily forklift inspections are completed as required and that forms are maintained for historical record, reporting any forklift problems to management so that they may be repaired.
· Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and all safety and environmental standards.
· Monitoring arrival of product for same day, or “RUSH” jobs from manufacturing – assisting the production team in any way possible to expedite the delivery of product in order to meet shipping deadlines.
· Other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by supervisor or management.

REQUIREMENTS
· Forklift experience is mandatory
· High school diploma/GED required, some post-secondary education preferred
· 1-3 years shipping experience preferred, in a manufacturing environment
· Excellent organizational, time management and record-keeping skills; must be highly detailed-oriented and organized
· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
· Must be team focused, selfless, and motivated to build relationships with team members, customers and suppliers
· Capable of working a consistent schedule starting at 7:50 AM
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· High competency level in MS Office
