Position: Computer Technician II

Reports to: Asst. Director of Information Technology & Infrastructure

Employment: 260 days full-time

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experienced with help desk operations including opening, resolving, and follow-up support calls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Windows 10, and Active directory.
  • Proficiency with Google Admin portal.
  • Troubleshooting skills in computer hardware and software.
  • Accountability - accept responsibility and account for actions of self.
  • Active Listening - convey and understand the comments and questions of others. Know how to understand what the user needs vs. wants and be able to articulate that in a conversation.
  • Analytical Skills - use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. Understand expected behavior versus observed behavior.
  • Customer Oriented - take care of the customer’s needs while following College procedures.
  • Creative thinking - produce a new concepts or ideas.
  • Detail Oriented - pay attention to the details of a project or task.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations.
  • Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
  • Assures quality customer service to all customers.
  • Assists with work coordination and training.
  • Provides technical guidance to peers as appropriate.
  • Configures, installs and maintains PC's, laptops, printers, scanners, print servers, terminal servers and other peripheral hardware.
  • Identifies hardware and software problems, local area network communications malfunctions and connectivity problems to include problem resolution.
  • Monitors, reviews, and updates trouble tickets using tracking software and provides resolution documentation to expand knowledge base.
  • Manages projects related to PC hardware and software upgrades or replacements.
  • Defines standards and writes SOPs related to hardware configuration.
  • Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
