What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Coordinator position at Kelly Box & Packaging?
Kelly Box & Packaging is seeking a hands-on individual to work in all areas of manufacturing. The primary goal of this function is to assist in the continual improvement of systems, processes, and product. This position will represent Quality and IT at Kelly Box’s Indianapolis plant and will report to the Quality Manager at our Fort Wayne location. This would be a good role for a recent college graduate as entry level.
Responsibilities:
- Understand manufacturing capabilities and limitations as pertains to quality issues
- Assist with development and implementation of Production Standards that pertain to quality issues.
- Assist in development of production training programs as pertains to quality.
- In-process quality assurance
- Develop and implement corrective actions for quality issues
- Report quality numbers at meetings as needed
- Check in new tooling compared to design drawings to assure that no quality issues will result due to tooling mis-design.
- Maintain and operate design table and create samples as needed
- Assist with IT repairs and trouble shooting
- Communicate with sales, customers and other KBPC employees regarding quality
- Complete reporting requests for customers as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for the Position:
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive, productive relationships
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Kelly Box will train for necessary IT skills; however, person should be savvy regarding IT equipment and have some knowledge of how to troubleshoot common issues with printers and computers.
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- College degree preferred
