TME Technician
Hillsboro, OR
Pay Rate: $23/hr plus benefits and paid time off
This is a long term, ongoing contract offered through Kelly Services. (No end date set)
SUMMARY
In addition to the responsibilities of a Build Center Technical Marketing Engineering (TME) Tech, the TME Tech will be responsible for assisting the TME Engineers in the training of TMEs in system integration analysis, maintain current infrastructure in upgrade and deploying new software, network configuration and monitoring, and daily data backup and monitoring. Perform evaluation and analysis of PC, Laptop, Server product platforms and special projects. Evaluating systems and producing test procedures and test scripts, as necessary. Developing detailed assembly instructions for production team. Provide training and technical support to the build team, test team, internal and external customers.
Audit completed platforms (QA/QC) and providing customer support for Build Center products.
Assist in production assembly and testing activities, setting up of test fixtures, lab cleanup, as required or other duties as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- SOLID KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Intel IA32/IA64 system configuration and its components
- Microsoft and Linux OS configuration and installations
- DOS/WinPE firmware tools, and BIOS configuration tools
- Imaging tools such as Symantec Ghost
- Scripting and batch file creation
- Basic knowledge network fundamentals
- Ability to setup Wi-Fi access point
- Ability to connect system into network configuration or a domain
- Ability to enable or disable network access
- Knowledge of data backup principles and security:
- Ability to recycle out old hardware and replace with new hardware into the existing infrastructure
- Ability to upgrade existing OS or software with new patches
- Ability to learn new software tools and assist DDC engineers in doing analysis or gathering data
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail Oriented
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS /EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THIS POSITION:
- BS/AA degree in CE, EE, CET, EET or proven years of experiences.
- A or other Certification is desirable
- Must have solid knowledge of PC IA architecture, latest technology in PC system hardware peripherals, OS software installation/configuration/driver update, network fundamental and configuration, and at least 2 years of work experience in combination of testing desktop, server, notebook computer systems, and configuring network equipment such as router/switch.
- Must have hands on experience in building systems from scratch
- Experience developing product assembly and test documentation.
