What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Designer position at Kelly?
Electrical Designers Needed in Allentown, PA.
Main Accountabilities:
- Designer shall create and design a complete construction or build package that meets the requirements of the project scope, Process & Instrument Diagram (P&ID), electrical load list, and/or shut down table.
- Designer needs to assure all designs include and meet all safety, process, code requirements, corporate standards, and possibly customer requirements.
- Designer may need to develop labor estimates, schedules, attend coordination meetings, and handle other design resources as required.
- Designer may be required to travel to field locations and provide technical services for field activities related to construction, equipment installation, plant modifications, or electrical design issues.
- Designer will be working on several projects at the same time, so the ability to multitask and to think strategically are critical to success.
- Coordinate work with other regions (Europe, India, China, etc.) and possibly run electrical and instrumentation design work within these other regional organizations.
Minimum experience:
- 2 – 3 years Electrical Design experience.
- This is a technical position and requires basic knowledge of electricity, instrumentation, and controls.
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), National Electric Safety Code (NFPA 70E), NEMA standards, ANSI standards, IEEE standards, and some IEC symbology and standards.
Position requires computer/CAD skills which include:
- The ability to utilize the corporate computing environment, in a responsible manner, to create, store and retrieve project data on a local and global basis.
- Is aware of corporate computing security requirements and adheres to them.
- Understand the structure of the network in order to connect to different servers for the purpose of transferring files to and from other groups and disciplines.
- Proficiency in MicroStationV7-V8
- Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D and other SmartPlant tools is a plus
