Kelly is hiring an Employment Specialist for one of the largest and most respected Higher Education Institutions in the Cleveland, OH (University Circle) area. Our partner is known for world class research and is one of the highest ranked Universities in the US.
This is a Temporary role but may converted to permanent based on performance during the assignment!
Our client has implemented a COVID vaccination policy requiring evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.
- Location: On-Site in Cleveland, Ohio
- Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8:30AM to 5PM
- Pay Rate: 18.50 an hour
Job Description:
- Provide guidance to managers on all matters related to employment including interpretation of human resources policies and procedures, affirmative action, interviewing and employment laws. Develop and execute recruiting plans. Meet and conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
- Screen and evaluate resumes. Review and analyze candidates’ qualifications against job requirements for appropriate matches. Conduct prescreening and interviews. Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Submit the best qualified candidates to hiring managers. Advise in interviewing and selecting employees.
- Perform reference and background checks for potential employees. Prepare and deliver letters and correspondence. Prepare and send offer packages and orientation materials. Ensure a smooth on-boarding process for new employees and a seamless transition for transferring employees.
- Source candidates and actively recruit a diverse qualified applicant pool. Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting. Build networks to find qualified passive candidates.
- Participate in preparing and delivering training programs related to recruitment and selection.
Ideal candidate must have:
Experience: 1 to 3 years of related experience with strong customer focus, preferably in human resources and/or employment related activities.
Education/Licensing: High School education; college coursework in Human Resources or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of recruiting techniques/methodology and EEO and employment law.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops and recommends alternative solutions; works well in individual and group problem solving situations.
- Ability to manage difficult customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels. Ability to speak clearly; listens and obtains clarification; participates in meetings. Writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information. Approaches others in a tactful manner.
- Ability to support organization by following policies and procedures; understands implications of decisions; completes tasks correctly; supports organization's goals and values. Works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel and Access); knowledge of webpage maintenance (Dreamweaver); knowledge of HR information systems (PeopleSoft and/or Oracle HR database system preferred); proficient in the use of the internet.
