4) Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Science
5) location is Philadelphia site with travel to Frederick Maryland as needed
Procurement Specialist
Scope
- Responsible for procurement of all material types, including indirect, direct and maintenance, repair and operating supplies (MRO)
- Supports procurement of services for the site.
- Supports the supplier relationship management process. Includes liaising with corporate function, as well as direct contact with vendors/suppliers.
- Supports procurement at the site is performed in accordance with all applicable internal policies and procedures. Possesses considerable knowledge of the same.
- Negotiates pricing.
- Responsible for spending efficiency and providing general pricing leadership, including identification of less expensive alternatives and other means of cost savings.
- Evaluates and manages delivery schedules to ensure workload levelling and flow.
- Works with customers in all departments to determine specifications and meet procurement needs.
- Support Local Implementation of Category Strategies
- Supports Quality Assurance in performance of supplier audits
- Coordinates cross-functionally within Supply Chain
- Performs analysis and prepares reports by collecting,
- Supports supplier selection and negotiations.
- Monitors key performance metrics and continuously reviews
vendor reliability and price.
- Engages with suppliers to understand and document supplier risk and remediations
- Ensures goods and services are properly secured with
Knowledge
- Possesses and frequently uses general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. Possesses broad knowledge of Procurement processes and the legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and quality.
- APICS, NAPM, or CPM certifications are desirable
- SAP, Internet Explorer, MS Power Point, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook

- Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
